Podcast: Growing up in the shadow of the pandemic

In this episode of Political Forum Module, Child Psychiatrist Karen Gaunson and Child Protection Specialist Tim Moore join us to discuss the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on children, now and in the future.

The COVID-19 pandemic is casting many shadows – for many individuals and families, the livelihoods have been wrenched away. One of the issues that received very little initial attention is the impact on children’s psychological well-being. So what obstacles did children face before the pandemic, and how can policymakers ensure that the past 18 months do not leave lasting scars? In this episode of Political Forum Module, Dr Karen Gaunson and Associate Professor Tim Moore join Professor Sharon Bessell and Dr Arnagretta Hunter to discuss how society can give children a sense of hope in such difficult times.
