With outside help from a former 49ers nemesis, Robbie Gould launches his team into the NFC Championship Game
If it hadn’t been for a few outside assists, it’s possible that San Francisco 49ers kicker Robbie Gould might not have been able to hit the game-winning kick that sent his team into the NFC Championship. Gould scored seven points (two field goals, one extra point) in the 49ers’ 13-10 win over the Green Bay Packers in Saturday night’s divisional playoff game, with his biggest moment on a 45-yard field goal in wintry conditions as time expired to send the 49ers home victorious. Credit Gould for taking the kick in such conditions, but he also asked for help before the game which ended up being the difference in the end. In preparation for what he knew would be a difficult weather environment at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Gould

NFC Championship Game to Feature 49ers-Rams Rematch
The San Francisco 49ers are just one win away from a Super Bowl comeback. They will have to go through the Los Angeles Rams to get there. On Saturday night, the Niners won their third straight road game, a stunning 13-10 win over the Green Bay Packers on icy Lambeau Field. They had to wait a day to find out who their next opponent would be. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted the Rams at Raymond James Stadium in the other game of the NFC Divisional Playoffs, but fell to visiting champions NFC West by a score of 30-27. That sets up a third 49ers-Rams game this season, with San Francisco winning the previous two. The 49ers won 31-10 in Week 10 and then again in Week 18 – a thrilling 27-24 overtime win that won the Bay Area team playoffs

Raiders likely to interview 49ers’ DeMeco Ryans after NFC Championship game, report says
DeMeco Ryans’ defensive coordinator stock is growing, especially after helping knock out the top-seeded Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field last weekend. Despite being a freshman coordinator, Ryans is a candidate for several NFL head coaching vacancies. The Minnesota Vikings interviewed him on Sunday. The Las Vegas Raiders are also interested. That interview, however, probably won’t come this week. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that the Raiders are ready to wait after Sunday’s NFC Championship Game between the Ryans 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams. “It was the expectation of work after Ryans interview with the Vikings on Sunday. Las Vegas not in [a] big rush,” Fowler tweeted on Monday.
