At tonight’s City Council meeting (12/20/21), the naming rights agreement for the Watertown Area Community Foundation Plaza was submitted for approval and authorizing City Manager Amanda Mack to sign documents commemorating the grant.

Jan Deberg – Executive Director, Board of Trustees Liam Culhane, Joel Vockrodt and Kristen Henderson were present at the Foundation meeting.

Mayor Holien gave Jan the opportunity to officially make the announcement …

With this it was unanimously approved by the board. Just before that, he was officially approved to award the bid in the amount of $ 2,591,667 to start the project with Gray Construction.

The project includes an elevated stage, interactive water feature, playground equipment, flexible use space, rest areas, fabric shade structures, ornamental fencing, landscaping, l irrigation, general site equipment and new elements of the streetscape on Kemp Avenue. The project includes approximately 7,400 ft of asphalt removal, installation of 700 ft of storm sewer, 1,200 tonnes of base course, 720 ft of curb and gutter, 2,080 ft of concrete paving, 31,250 ft of concrete sidewalk and 16,140 ft of synthetic grass.
