It’s an all-new episode of the show featuring everything from baseball’s “Midsummer Classic” to audiences for golf’s latest major and more on the “SportsMediaWatch.com Podcast.”
Host TJ Rives comes back with Jon Lewis (aka “Paulsen”) from SportsMediaWatch.com to discuss the latest topics, rankings and also have a special guest this week.
First, the guys review MLB All-Star Week in Los Angeles with the Home Run Derby starting Monday. Did they look? Did he follow his course? So what about the game and it airs Tuesday night from Dodger Stadium? How did you Joe Davis do in his time in the All-Star booth on Fox with veteran analyst/former world champion pitcher John Smoltz? The boys also wonder if the All Star game should be changed like MLB is already doing with other aspects of their regular season games.
Then there is a discussion of the British Open which will end with a victory for Australia on Sunday. Cam Smith. Smith outplayed the fan favorite Rory McIlroy of Ireland on the stretch to win the “Claret Jug” and the last major golf championship of season 22? How were their ratings and how did audiences compare to what was on TV this weekend, including nighttime, etc. ? Moreover, could Charles Barkley really leave TNT for the LIV golf tour?
Then TJ brings George Ofman aboard the “Tell Me A Story I Don’t Know” podcast series on this stream. This show will have a special “Steven Week” next week (7/25-29) that will feature Bob Costas, Sarah Kustok, Mike Greenberg, Eddie Olczyk and mike wilbon as individual guest conversations each day. George has great insight into these shows and why he chose these guests as the best to be part of his catalog of over 50 interviews to date from the show?
Finally, TJ and Jon play some “Love it or Leave it?” with a few topics, including MLB All Star uniforms, College Football Conference media days coverage, and why the NBA is clumsy with YouTube broadcasts of their old games? Jon is definitely NOT a fan of that!
