Gloria A. Kullberg Obituary – Rockford Register Star

Gloria A. Kullberg, 70, of Rockford, a devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, precious wife of 49 years, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunts came into the presence of her precious Savior Jesus on March 15, 2022 Born March 29, 1951, in Rockford, the daughter of Eugene and Mary Jayne (Miller) Nelson. Graduated from Guilford High School (1969) and Northwestern University dental hygiene program (1972). Gloria married her high school sweetheart, Fredric “Ric” Kullberg MD on August 19, 1972, in Rockford and supported him through medical school. She was a longtime member of the First Evangelical Free Church and a loyal participant in the First Free Chorale for 36 years, including many elaborate Christmas programs and performed in several church theater programs. Gloria enjoyed many activities with her husband and best friend, including attending classical concerts, operas and theater productions, cruising, snorkeling, biking, cross-country skiing, dancing lounge, gourmet dining, boating and swimming at the Lake Wisconsin family home. She was a gourmet chef and enjoyed elegant entertaining of family and friends. Gloria was an enthusiastic member and teacher of children for many years in the Bible Study Fellowship and was instrumental in establishing a women’s community Bible study class in Rockford. Gloria had a passionate love for the Lord and her family, and was devoted to worship, prayer, and Bible study; and was always eager to share the good news of the gospel with whomever she could. Survived by her husband, Fredric “Ric”; daughter, Christina (Eric) King of Dublin, OH; granddaughter, Acelynn King; sister, Marcia Lucido of Garland, TX; nephews, Brad (Yuka) Lucido of Tokyo, Japan, and Jeff (Kristin) Lucido and great-niece, Isabella Lucido of Garland, TX; aunts, Karen Morris of Rockford and Janet Person of Minneapolis; and several cousins. Predeceased by his parents; Grand parents; and brother-in-law, John Lucido.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at First Evangelical Free Church, 2223 N. Mulford Rd., Rockford with Rev. Bertie Holmgren officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, April 8 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford and 10:30-11:45 a.m. before the church service. Burial in the Scandinavian cemetery.
