Free Press launches new podcast about the Michigan football team in 1997

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Michigan Wolverines going undefeated and winning the 1997 National Championship.

That year cemented the legacy of so many players in the corn and blue, including Lloyd Carr and Brian Griese, and it was the year that Charles Woodson made history as the first defensive player primary to winning the Heisman Trophy.

We’re launching a limited series podcast called “Road to the Victors: The story of the 1997 Michigan Wolverines,” where we’ll look back on the 1997 college football season. We’re not only tracking the week-by-week progress of Michigan’s run at the Rose Bowl, but also the unprecedented Heisman Trophy run and the last shared national title.
