Duncan High School leadership team launches podcast

DUNCAN, Oklahoma (KSWO) – The Duncan High School Leadership Program has unveiled a new podcast aimed at helping others develop their leadership skills.

On Friday, students celebrated the launch of Love 2 Lead, the first podcast in the program’s history.

Students and faculty hope this podcast will help others learn from their experiences.

The development of leadership skills is one of the main priorities of the Duncan High School Leadership Program.

To further apply these skills, the program launched the Love 2 Lead podcast.

A teacher and program sponsor, Savanah Bowers, had wanted to do something like this for years.

She said Covid got in the way last year, but this year they thought it was time.

“So this podcast, I was like, why don’t we have teens talking about teenage issues and how to deal with those with grace, with positivity like a leader would,” said Bowers.

The podcast holds a special place in the hearts of students, who want to help others overcome the problems they have faced.

“I think this podcast is very important because I’ve struggled with a lot of things, and I think being able to have those experiences and now helping other people is going to be a blessing in disguise,” said Gena Parker.

Bowers said she was excited about the future of the podcast.

“I try to tell them that everyday is that I’m proud of them and love them no matter what,” Bowers said. “And it’s like it’s one of the highlights of my career doing this podcast, it’s the first time something like this has been done and I’m so proud of them for the work that they’re going to do it, for the seriousness with which they take it and for the way they promote it in the community.

The first episode of the podcast will be available next week, and at least two episodes will be released per month.

You can find the Love 2 Lead podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
