Kutiman goes classic!
Der israelische Musiker und Mashup-Künstler Ophir Kutiel, alias , hat mit seinem ThruYOU-Projekt gezeigt, welche beeindruckenden Ergebnisse die Mashup-Kultur liefern kann. Millionenfach wurden seine zu Funksongs zusammengeschnittenen Youtube-Samples angeschaut und das Time Magazine platzierte das Werk sogar auf Platz 28 der besten Erfindungen des Jahres 2009. Nun wurde seine Arbeit auch vom Guggenheim Museum gewürdigt. Bei seinem Auftritt spielt ein kleines Orchester zu seinen Youtube-Samples. Das Ergebnis: Ungarische Tänze Nr.5 von Johannes Brahms.

Schön, dass das gewürdigt wird. Aber die neue Präsentation ist dann doch eher schwach. Da fehlt der Beat!

Mag sein dass da ein Beat fehlt. ;) Aber ich finde das ganz große Klasse. Ich muss den unbedingt bei seiner nächsten Tour erwischen und mir mal von ihm erklären lassen wir genau er das macht.

Klar, ich halte die thru-you Serie mit Abstand für das Beste, was je auf / mit youtube gemacht wurde, drunter gehts nicht. Weil: die Musik selbst ist ja auch der Hammer.
